Rodeo of the Ozarks prides itself on being an event for the entire family! This year we’ve added to our youth events so that there is something for kids ages 4-10 years old. We look forward to seeing you at the rodeo!  Please Fill out the Youth Application AND The Liability Release below to register your children.  We do not charge fees for youth events.  Participants must have a ticket to the Rodeo.

Mutton Bustin (ages 4-7)

Hang On! It will soon be time for the 2020 Mutton Bustin Championship. Mutton Bustin’ has grown to be one of the most popular events at the Rodeo of the Ozarks. The contest, for 4 – 6 year olds under 55 pounds, consists of the youngsters riding a sheep out of a bucking chute and into the rodeo arena. Like the cowboy bucking events, time and score count, but all the contestants receive trophies. Participants will be required to wear a long sleeve shirt and jeans. Each competitor will be timed and judged on their riding skills. Participants will be required to sit up straight, no “choke holds”. Mutton Bustin begins at 6:30 p.m. before the Rodeo. The top riders each night will ride again during the rodeo performance to determine who advances to the finals on last night of the rodeo. A half-hour before, kids “meet the sheep” and will be outfitted in protective helmets. Then they will get their last minute instructions from organizers and their parents. Only 1 parent will be allowed in the arena with the participants. The event is limited to 25 children each night.

Wild Horse Race (ages 8-10)

Rodeo of the Ozarks has added an exciting new event this year with the Wild Horse Race!  Don't worry parents, these ("trusty steeds" aren't really wild or even breathing, it's just a name).  No experience required to enter this race.  We would tell you otherwise.
